QJot is a small USB portable alternative
rich text editor that reads and writes .doc files, inserts images and more. It is basically meant to serve as a good WordPad
replacement. It supports Unicode and runs under Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Its native format is RTF, but it can open, edit
and save Word and WordPerfect files (though not with all of their features). It can be used with any script that is supported
by Windows and for which a font and a keyboard driver are installed, including right-to-left scripts. QJot is fully portable
and can be run from a USB flash drive.

Crypt Edit is one of the
most powerful freeware word processors. It is a nice replacement for the standard Windows NotePad and WordPad. Crypt Edit
requires Windows 95 OSR2, Windows 98/2000 or Windows NT 4.0 or later to run. No additional DLLs or whatever are required.
It can easily create, protect, modify, post and print your documents: I am running it on my XP machine and I am well pleased
with the performance.

Scribus Scribus is an Open Source Desktop Publishing for Linux, Mac
OS® X and Windows®. Here are some seventeen screenshots
that were just published this month, April 2006 so this product must
not have been released that long. Check it out, it's probably a good Open Source program.

Text Suite Pro is a text-editing tool. If you manually edit your Windows and system
files, you have probably done that with Notepad. Well, now it will be easier for you as Text Suite lets you reach those files
in a single click, automatically tiled in the workspace window. You also are able to reach your Registry quickly and make
backups of your most important system files. As Text Suite Pro also is a regular writepad that handles both rich and plain
text, and have all needed functions for text editing, you don't have to know anything about system editing at all to use it.
You also are now able to play your favorite music from the built-in MP3 player, while editing your text documents.

Abykus is a FREE spreadsheet program that adds an exciting new
dimension to the classic 'what-if' analysis. While electronic spreadsheets have undergone many important changes over the
years, they remain pretty much what they've always been - giant ledger sheets capable of storing a single value or formula
in each cell. Abykus extends this concept by allowing objects (i.e. matrixes, tables, coordinates, polygons, profiles,
cross-sections, etc.) to be stored in individual cells, which makes the spreadsheet especially well suited for scientific
applications that require complex data types, such as those often encountered by land surveyors and civil engineers.
