CLICK TO ENLARGE Portable Scribus is a portable version of an open source page maker called Scribus, which is much like Abobe Pagemaker, which can help create professional looking documents, newsletters, magazines, etc. With Portable Scribus, you can put it on your USB drive, and plug it in to any computer, and leave not a trace behind when you´re done.

SpaceMonger 1.4.0 is the discontinued freeware version of Sixty-Five's SpaceMonger shareware product, currently at v2.1.1. The graphics are a little dated, but the pure functionality is there, and it's quite impressive for its size. The application consists of a single executable, which makes it a great utility to keep on a flash drive. Settings are stored in the registry, so it doesn't leave little file fragments wherever it was run. To use, simply open the drive you wish to view, wait for it to scan everything, and you're presented with an overview of your hard drive. Turn off Free Space to get a more direct view on what files or folders are taking up space. To view the contents of a folder, left-click and press zoom, or just double-click.

QJot is a relatively small alternative rich text editor, a completely USB portable application, that saves .doc files, inserts images. word count, plus many more features. Great tool.

Keybreeze  (Download details at bottom of post) is a small application that gives you an easier and faster alternative to use your computer. Instead of searching for programs in your Start Menu, or scrolling through your Favorites to get to a certain web page, you can open anything or perform any set of tasks from the Keybreeze toolbar. This program is a command-line toolbar that lets you open files, folders, and websites by typing keywords. The toolbar is only visible when you are using it. It disappears from your screen after you activate it and launch a command. You can quickly activate the toolbar by pressing a global hotkey (semicolon by default). This will always activate Keybreeze, regardless of what program you are using. The hotkey can be changed to any key combination on your keyboard. Then you can type a variety of entries. Keywords are used to open programs and websites. For example, you can type outlook to open Microsoft Outlook, word to open Microsoft Word, or calculator to open Windows calculator.  When you install Keybreeze, keywords will automatically be set up for your commonly used programs, but you can easily make your own for websites and other documents. Someone has been busy. 100 Portable Apps for your USB Stick (both for Mac and Win) This is from makeuseof.com   This stuff can be installed on any portable drive, i.e. USB thumbdrive, PDA or an iPod. You can use them at work, school, or any other place where you can plugin your device. Check them out, you can either scroll-down for relevant category, i.e office software, email tools, messengers, games, etc. or get a ‘all-in-one’ package (all essential tools) . The backups are stored as compressed and dated .zip files, allowing you to store multiple backups on the same media. You can also password protect your backups, or limit the backup to selected folders from the drive.
