Paper Notes PaperNotes is an application that will help you better organize your notes by arranging them on your desktop. This is just a very small app to keep stickies but the author has some other interesting things if you are into VB.

Shock Sticker is a desktop sticky notes program that offers a full range of features including full rich text editing, alarms, passwords, and quick notes transfer to other users of the program. Notes can be hidden and retrieved from the tray icon or minimized to small floating icons on the desktop. Very good!

This is a Korean site and they have so many programs that I won't name them all but no doubt there's more than this one to check out. Most are in Korean and English but some only Korean.

NotesHolder is an Easy-to-Use Desktop Sticky Notes Software.

NotesHolder lets you quickly type in any piece of information so that you can easily find it when you need, read it or print it out for your convenience. This is the most effective way to store all your notes without cluttering up your desk with PostIt and sticky notes.

Unlike the other similar desktop sticky notes applications, NotesHolder is very thrifty with your screen space. You can even turn off NotesHolder icon in the system tray. But if you move your mouse cursor to the edge of the screen, the list of the notes sorted by the time of creation and divided into categories will pop up. PNotes (Pinned Notes or Portable Notes, use what you prefer) is a manager of virtual desktop notes which has been started as auxiliary program for colleagues, but in a short space of time has been recognized over the web.
Written entirely in C and Windows API (with Pelles C for Windows IDEhttp://www.christian-heffner.de/ - the best one IDE for C IMHO) it is light-weight and fast. It has flexible settings - both for the program in whole and for individual note. Appearance of notes can be skinnableindex.php?page=2 or flat, skinless (added in version 2.5), in which case they become resizable. Also you can manage notes transparency level from fully transparent to opaque. Obviously, background colors and fonts of notes may be changed as well (more advanced text formatting is currently in developing and will appear in next version).
Scheduling is also one of PNotes features. Each note can be scheduled to remind you about important things, appointments, dates and so on.
All notes are accessible from PNotes Control Panel. PNotes has multilanguageindex.php?page=3 interface and is fully Unicode supported.
And obviously, PNotes is absolutely portable. It does not leave any trace in Windows registry, so it can be used from any drive in any computer.

Stickypaper is a sticky note application that has much more functionality than most of its kind. It enables you to create normal sticky notes as well as pictures, real-time notes with RSS, and just about anything else with its fully scriptable system. Note that the documentation is in Japanese, but the program itself is in English. I think you will like this one!
